ARTIST STATEMENT
I respond to Place with abstract architectural forms that play with light, shadow and reflection; produced by hand with an experimental process using traditional materials and techniques.
Through site-specific projects using clay, language, photography and digital media I explore a sense of place. I integrate words and meaning such as Robert MacFarlane's glossaries that describe landscape to form a narrative layer to respond to and move between site and studio in a reflective process.
I am continually developing my methods of model and plaster mould making, combining digital modelling, cutting, and hand-drawing, balancing complexity with functionality.
